Nick Cannon has signed up for a charity walk to raise funds for a kidney organization following his health battle last year.
Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey’s husband was hospitalized in December, 2011 because of acute kidney failure, and he was back under the care of doctors in February, 2012 after blood clots were discovered in his lungs.
Nick Cannon, who was later diagnosed with a rare form of autoimmune disease lupus, has added his support to the Kidney Walk of National Kidney Foundation in New York in October, 2012 and has urged his fans to donate all they can to the initiative.
Nick cannon says, “ I am thrilled to be walking the Kidney Walk and hope you’ll help me get the word out about screening and the importance of healthy lifestyle in preventing kidney disease. I did not pay attention to my eating habits before but now I know that eating low salt, low fat and low sugar diets and keeping the blood pressure and blood sugar under control can prevent kidney damage.
“ So let’s team up to spread the message as we fight against kidney disease. No matter where you are, you can support our efforts. Make your contribution today and join Team Nick Cannon. Thank you!”
